A good place to go for tutorial on DirectX and OpenGL is &lt;a href="http://www.gamedev.net/"&gt;GameDev.net&lt;/a&gt;. There are categories for &lt;a href="http://www.gamedev.net/reference/list.asp?categoryid=24"&gt;DirectX&lt;/a&gt; tutorials and &lt;a href="http://www.gamedev.net/reference/list.asp?categoryid=31"&gt;OpenGL tutorials&lt;/a&gt;, and the forums have tonnes of experts who can help you get started.
